Trollhole carb questions

Got my carb instlled and it performed as expected.
Any ideas on lengthening the center bolt that holds the filter housing onto the carb throat?
Has anyone experienced the secondary hanging very slightly causing a rich condition at idle?
I lightly touched the linkage and it closed.
